Contractual Rules

Important Rules of Being a Team Member

  1. Always contact the customer and reconfirm ALL details sent to you on the day of the booking before midday.
  2. Always wear your full uniform to every job and do not be late.
  3. Baby oil is not permitted – Except for Strippers
  4. Trainers or boots are not allowed to be worn at any time. Black flip flops must be worn only.
  5. No drinking alcohol, smoking, taking drugs or consuming food.
  6. No mobile phones when working, once you are inside the venue your phone is to be put away for the duration of the booking.
  7. No sexual activity of any kind is permitted from either party.
  8. Under no circumstances should you swear or use abusive language.
  9. Staying at the venue after the booking time is finished is not permitted – even if the customer asks you to.
  10. You are not permitted to swap jobs with other butlers. Under exceptional circumstances, this must be cleared by us before you alert the customer or agree to it.
  11. Do not send any personal pictures to customers even if they are requested. Advise them to contact the company.
  12. You are not to change times directly with a customer, if in an emergency you need to then we must be alerted. If the customer asks you to do so you must advise them to contact us.
  13. You are to arrive showered and with your hair done and wearing deodorant. Clothes are to be freshly laundered.
  14. You are required to be well-groomed, clean-shaven is not compulsory, just needs to be neat and tidy – Bum does not need to be clean shaven.
  15. Failure to fulfil an agreed booking or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice may result in instant dismissal.
  16. Never attend a job hungover.

These rules are in place to ensure your job is safe and fun at all times.

No Touching Policy – Except for Strippers

We have a no-touching policy for customers!
If you are inappropriately touched multiple times and you are uncomfortable, simply inform the event organiser of the behaviour, if this continues to happen you have the right to leave. If the behaviour continues and you feel that you need to leave you MUST report it to the company immediately, please advise us why you needed to leave.

Unsafe Situations

  • Do not carry a large amount of hot food or beverages that may spill and cause burn.
  • You should not lift heavy objects.
  • You should not work on a platform, steps, or any kind of stairs.
  • You do not have to accept any rude or antisocial behaviour from the party. Some guests may become intoxicated, which can be hard to manage.

Remember…

  • DO NOT BE LATE!
  • Make sure the full uniform is ironed and clean.
  • Greet guests at the beginning of the party. – Except for Strippers
  • Always get involved with the group, serve drinks, play games, and help clear up. – Except for Strippers
  • Smile, be polite and helpful, throughout the time spent there.

If ever in doubt of how you should act, always behave like a gentleman, be polite and smile.


Booking Process

Once you have agreed a job, you are committed to fulfilling the booking to the high standards and expectations of The Cheeky Butler Co. We accept no excuses for pulling out of a job, you will be marked down, and any future jobs may be affected.

The Week of the Booking

You will receive communication from us at the start of the week of the booking and on the day before the booking which will give full details including contact details for the customers. Keep a diary of the dates of your confirmed booking(s).

The Day of the Booking

You will be required to confirm with us on the day of the booking before midday on the day of the booking reconfirming the details of your jobs, additionally you will need to text the customers to introduce yourself and confirm the booking details. You may choose this point to ask if they have any special requests or anything that may help make the event extra special for the guests.

Arriving at the Job

  • Always arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time if you are working with other butler(s) always meet outside the venue and go in together. If you are struggling to find a venue or location, you can ask the customer to share their location with you via WhatsApp which should then help you to locate them.
  • If you are going to be late for unforeseen circumstances, YOU are responsible for contacting the customer to let them know and advise them of your estimated arrival time.
  • (IMPORTANT! – Do not knock on the door even if you must wait) – If you are unable to get in contact with the customer due to loss of signal, you can also connect to Wi-Fi and use a WhatsApp call.
  • You will be given a room in which you can get changed into your uniform on arrival.
  • Introduce yourself to the customer and the group at the beginning of the job.
  • You will be required to serve drinks/cocktails – Take the time to learn a few cocktails, for example, Sex on the beach.
  • Ask guests if they need their drinks topped up, serve food, and clean away glasses as you go, including the washing up. Play party games and get involved. We recommend “Our Cheeky Little Secret”:
    • Each member anonymously writes down their wildest, darkest, cheekiest secret and passes to the butler.
    • Once every member has written it down and passed over, the butler shall then read each Cheeky Little Secret out loud one by one.
    • The guests must try and guess the person who wrote the secret. If they guess correct, the person who wrote the secret must complete a forfeit of the parties choice (Typically, a SHOT)!
    • As an added bonus round, at the end, the bride to be must write down 3 Cheeky Little Secrets. Two of which are true and the third false.
    • The other guests must then guess which is true and which is false. I
    • If the group guess correctly, then that’s a forfeit for the bride to be!

Other Requirements

Hen Party Games

You are required to actively host and play party games with the group and should be able to give a couple of game ideas for the group to play.

Cocktails

You are required to make basic cocktails for groups so you will need to know some basic cocktail skills. You will not need to use a shaker, just be able to make cocktails from the ingredients that they will provide you with.

Champagne

The group will require you to be able to pour Champagne or Prosecco, this may sound easy but it’s not! Please make sure you have practiced and pour a perfect glass without half the bottle spilling over the top!


Dress Code

Uniform – Except for Strippers

The uniform consists of the following:

  • Collar
  • Black Bow Tie (To be provided by yourself)
  • The Cheeky Butler co. Apron (Bum on show otherwise specified)
  • Black/Dark Flip Flops (To be provided by yourself)
  • Tight Black Boxers – These may be requested by the customer to be worn underneath the apron or just on their own, we will inform you prior to the booking if you are required to wear black boxers.
  • Formal Black Trousers – These may be requested by the customer for a more conservative event or for corporate events, we will inform you prior to the booking if you are required to wear black trousers. PLEASE NOTE, formal black shoes are also to be worn when wearing black trousers.

**Some customers, may bring props for you to wear throughout the night, such as hats, jewellery, and costume pieces. **

We advise that the uniform is to be washed at cool (30°c). The apron will need to be washed separately (darks) and the collar and cuffs to be washed together (white’s). This is IMPORTANT otherwise it will ruin the uniform.

It is strongly recommended that you take a kit bag to every job, we reccommend the following:

Self-Employment

You are not employed by The Cheeky Butler Co. As you are self-employed you are responsible for your own Tax and National Insurance. Being self-employed means that you can decline booking opportunities if you are not available or have prior commitments, however, once you confirm your availability, and the job is allocated to you, we fully expect your commitment to fulfil the jobs agreed to.
Being self-employed also means you are a separate entity to The Cheeky Butler Co. This means any antisocial behaviour or anything of a more serious nature is on you as an individual. The Cheeky Butler Co. is not liable for anything resulting from such behaviour of self-employed Butlers.
